Golf Carts Allowed In Minooka: Police Reveal Exactly What's Allowed And What Gets You A Fine
People can apply for a $10 permit at the Minooka Police Department.
MINOOKA, IL— On Monday afternoon, the Minooka Police Department took to their Facebook page to notify everyone that golf carts are now allowed in Minooka and here are the new rules.
People must pay a $10 permit to get their permit from the police department and golf cart use is only allowed on residential streets.
There are eight places that operating a golf cart will be prohibited and if you're caught, you will be busted by the police and given a steep fine: McEvilly Road, Brannick Road, Route 6, Bell Road, Ridge Road, Downtown, along the bike trails and along the sidewalks.

A first offense violation is a $250 fine. A second offense carries a $500 fine, and a third offense means a $750 fine.

- "Hope they abide by the rules of the road. What I have been seeing is they don't stop at stop signs and feel they have the right of the road driving down the middle."
- "What's the rule for mobility scooters using Bell Road to get to the trail on McEvilly and using the trail and sidewalks to get to the Vintage Fair when it is in town?"
- "Will this include the side by side with lights and turn signals and everything? Can we get the same permits?"
