Man Who Drove Underneath I-80 Semi Identified By Coroner

The death remains under investigation by Gruncy Coroner Callahan's Office and the Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit.

MORRIS — The victim from Tuesday's late morning wreck into the back of a semitrailer along the Interstate 80 stretch of Morris and Seneca has been identified as a 47-year-old man who lived in the area.

Grundy County Coroner John W. Callahan’s Office, along with Illinois State Police, are investigating the deadly crash that claimed the life of the La Salle man.

The crash occurred at approximately 11:50 a.m., on Interstate 80 eastbound near mile marker 109. Preliminary investigation indicates that David Biggane, 47, was traveling eastbound on I-80, when he collided with the rear-end of a semi-trailer.

Biggane was found dead at the scene by the Coroner’s Office at 12:31 p.m.

The traffic fatality remains under investigation by Callahan’s Office and the Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit.
