MINOOKA, IL — The weather may be calling for several inches of snow Friday, but that isn't stopping the Minooka Creamery from having its grand opening in 2023. This week, signs on several of the windows read "Opening Day March 3."

In preparation for its March 3 opening for 2023, the Minooka Creamery posted the following announcement on its Facebook page: "Menus are up! Also, some other off season projects….. Check out the new cow print wall, We also have new and improved ordering and pick up windows. We can’t wait to start serving up all the Creamery treats on Friday!"

Minooka Village Administrator Dan Duffy said the village re-arranged the parking lot about three years ago to make it safer for families and kids to come around to the Creamery.

"It's a small business with a small town atmosphere," Duffy said of Minooka Creamery. "If it's nice, it will be busy. On any given day in the summer, you'll have kids come up from our splash park just down the street, to families at night gathering after work or school."

When the Minooka Creamery is open for the season, Duffy and his co-workers often head there during their lunch breaks.

"We all take turns during the lunch hours," he remarked Thursday.

Minooka village employee Liz Ashley said she's been patronizing the Minooka Creamery since she was a child. Twisty cones and ice cream pies are two of her favorite treats.

Minooka Creamery has 535 Google Reviews, averaging 4.5 out of five stars. One of the last public reviews, which was 5 stars, came three months ago from a woman named Hannah.

"This place is TOO cute. Reminds me of the little ice cream shops in the south. I got the cinnamon toast crunch blaster and it immediately took me back to childhood. I highly recommend this place and will be back! Also - for everyone talking about how the price has gone up —the cost on EVERYTHING has gone up ... so if they don't raise their prices how are they supposed to make any profit? Especially as a small business."
