Minooka Principals Kiss Pig After Students Met Reading Goals

Summer reading challenge ended with Jones and Walnut Trails elementary school principals giving a pig a smooch.

Diesel, the pig, got more than he bargained for at school, recently. Instead of reading, writing, and ’rithmatic, the pig got a big smooch – twice!

As part of the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge, parents logged the number of hours their students read from May 5 to Sept. 5, as reported by Shaw Media.

“Walnut Trails (Elementary) students met their Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge,” according to the Minooka Consolidated Community School District 201 website. ”Students read 200,045 minutes, placing sixth in Illinois!”
