Obituary: Patricia A. Lamping

Patricia A. (nee Valek) Lamping, age 85, of Morris, IL passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at home.

She was born on May 14, 1940, to the late Mary (nee Chorak) and Edward Valek in Joliet, IL where she was raised and educated. She married Clarence W. Lamping on October 11, 1958, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Joliet, IL.

She is the beloved mother of Brian A. (Jo Lyn) Lamping, Todd J. (Sylvia) Lamping and Kurt Lamping; loving grandmother of Heather Jones and Jennifer Merker; dearest great-grandmother of Kayli, Carter, Keane, Dwane, Reed and Gage along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by husband Clarence (2021) and her parents.

Patricia kept a wonderful home for her family. She was also active in assisting her husband with his contracting company, C.W. Lamping General Contractors and the family farm, with bookkeeping and other tasks. She and Clarence truly were united on all fronts. She was a member of the Morris Moose Lodge for many years and had a love for her beloved pets, gardening, her fish pond, and thoroughly enjoyed her winters in Florida.

All friends and relatives are invited to gather for a Memorial Visitation at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. As it was Patricia's wish cremation rites have been accorded.
