WASHINGTON, DC — A Republican representative from Illinois said he was "disgusted" by chants at a Donald Trump rally in North Carolina Wednesday night. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, of the 16th District, tweeted his denouncement of the Trump crowd's chant of "send her back," which referred to Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, who was born in Somalia.

Trump said at the rally that "Tonight I have a suggestion for the hate-filled extremists who are constantly trying to tear our country down. They never have anything good to say. That's why I say, 'Hey if you don't like it, let 'em leave, let 'em leave.'"

Trump's recent comments about four minority Democratic representatives — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts — have been rebuked by the House of Representatives, which voted Tuesday to condemn Trump's "racist" comments.

Kinzinger, a member of the National Guard, was deployed to the southern border with Mexico in February, according to RR Star.

Though Trump later spoke out against the chants of "send her back," a July 14 tweet suggests that "'Progressive' Democrat Congresswomen" do just that.

He suggested that multiple Democratic congresswomen go back to the "crime infested places from which they came," and fix things, though of the four Democratic congresswomen he named, only one — Omar — is originally from another country.
