According to files at the Will County Courthouse, in March 2024, Perez worked out a plea agreement, pleading guilty to criminal sexual abuse in connection with a Joliet crime.

Will County Judge Vincent Cornelius sentenced Perez to two years of probation. Perez was also sentenced to 28 days in the Will County Jail, but he did not have to serve that time because he had already spent 14 days in the jail awaiting trial. Perez was ordered to pay court costs of $2,794 and a probation fee of $1,200.

The initial criminal complaint from Joliet Police Detective Shawn Filipiak was filed in 2019, stating that Perez had used threat or force to have sexual relations with a teenage girl, between the ages of 13 and 16, during the time of July 5-19,2019.

One of the original charges, aggravated battery, accused Perez of trying to strangle the girl in the 100 block of Twin Oaks Drive.

In connection with this week's criminal charge, Will County court records and the Illinois State Police sex offender registry are now listing Perez's current address as being in Morris on East Green Acres Drive.
