Sleeping With Daughter’s Boyfriend's Teen Pal Got Her 6 Months Jail & Probation, But Now She’s Locked Up Again

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet mom got off with just six months in jail and probation for sleeping with a teenage pal of her daughter’s boyfriend, but now she’s back behind bars for getting arrested down in Mississippi and taking drugs, according to court papers.

Shana Cox, 41, was found guilty of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in April 2012. She was sentenced to six months in jail and four years probation for having sex with a 15-year-old.

She met the teen through her daughter’s boyfriend.

Cox violated her probation by getting arrested for interfering with a police officer and resisting arrest in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, in April 2015, according to a court filing. She was also arrested for credit fraud in February, again in Ocean Springs, the filing said.

Cox’s probation prohibited her from taking drugs, the filing said, but she tested dirty for methamphetamine and marijuana.

Cox moved from Joliet to Mississippi and was living in Pascagoula when she was arrested, according to court records.
