Grundy Woman's Slaying: GoFundMe Launched For Her Daughter

GARDNER — Three friends of a Grundy County murder victim have joined together in hopes of raising donations for the "young adult" daughter of Sunday's early morning homicide victim, Aleasha Raszkowski.

The GoFundMe is called "Support Kaycia Raszkowski After Tragic Loss." The goal is to raise $10,000. So far, it has collected $1,405 through 26 donations.

Tammy Webb, Shirley Palmerin and Julie Vasquez announced that they are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Kaycia Raszkowski, daughter of 55-year-old homicide victim Aleasha Raszkowski.

"Please help my dear friend's daughter with a donation to put her mother to rest and take care of bills her mother had so she isn't burdened with it," the GoFundMe stressed.

According to the GoFundMe, on Sunday morning, at 4:45 a.m, "Aleasha was brutally murdered in her home. Aleasha was severely stabbed to death over 20 times by her roommate as a result of a domestic violence battery incident."

Joliet Patch previously reported that Grundy County State's Attorney Russ Baker has charged 52-year-old Jeffrey Conley with first-degree murder.

Organizers of the GoFundMe emphasized that the victim's daughter does not have the money for a funeral or memorial for her mother, "much less pay for the cremation or any bills left behind on her mother's behalf. If you knew Aleasha, you know she was a compassionate person a giving person a caring person. You know Aleasha was a single parent who struggled to make sure her daughter had everything SHE needed before herself."

Funeral services for Raszkowski will be at Delgado Funeral Home, 400 N. Landau Ave., from 3 to 7 p.m. Aug. 19.
