Terrible Google Reviews For New Dairy Queen Grill & Chill In Channahon

CHANNAHON — Channahon's long awaited Dairy Queen Grill and Chill restaurant has finally opened but many people in the Channahon and Minooka area are trashing the place, posting terrible comments about Channahon's newest business. Channahon's new Dairy Queen is located along Route 6 at 25208 W Eames Street.

As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, the new Dairy Queen had a total of 14 Google Reviews, averaging 2.1 stars out of 5 stars.

The overwhelming comments gave the Dairy Queen one star or two stars — 9 of the 14 Google Reviews posted at the time of Patch's article were either 1-star or two stars.

Union Sheet Metal Worker's 1-star review declared: "It’s just your typical DQ ice cream…nothing too fancy compared to Cherry Bomb tho! I mean Cherry Bomb is 100 times better! Very small inside here, but Cherry Bomb blows DQ out of the water! Hands down!"

Key and Peele's 1-star review stated, "It’s not DQ’s fault for us having not one, not two, but THREE ICE CREAM places in BOTH TOWNS?! Missey Moorman, the mayor of Channahon, I hope you’re seeing this because this is ridiculous! We need an actual restaurant like for our town!"

Shane Divis wrote in his 1-star review: "Walked in last night with my family, walked out within 30 seconds, the entire building smelled like human waste."

"Matriculated" put in their 1-star review: "If you like the smell of poop, while eating ice cream, then take the family to your local Channahon DQ!!! Otherwise STOP giving them your MONEY so they will CLOSE the establishment and FIX the SEWAGE ISSUE!!! It's amazing that the employees are willing to work in that environment."

Scott Corso also gave it a 1-star review, "Smelled like human waste. Left immediately. I don’t know if I will ever go back to verify it doesn’t smell lol. Was at the restaurant on 6/2/2024."

Jason Rivas put in his 1-star review: "I don’t know what the smell is, but you should go through the drive through because inside it smells terrible."

Not everyone gave the new Dairy Queen a terrible Google Review, though.

Carmen Skocy gave it a 5-star ranking, writing: "Best Ice-cream place and reasonable price for ice cream in Channahon. Love it because it is a short distance to my house. Workers are very friendly."
