1. A person was shot and killed Tuesday morning on the Eisenhower Expressway near Cicero Avenue, CBS reports. Several lanes were closed as Illinois State Police responded to the shooting report. Another person inside the victim’s vehicle was injured. (CBS)

2. Officer Areanah Preston will be laid to rest today. Funeral services will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ. Preston was 24 years old when she was shot and killed outside her Avalon Park home earlier this month. (ABC)

3. A group of men robbed at least 10 victims Sunday night on the Northwest side. Police issued a community alert, saying the robbers were riding in a gray Hyundai Elantra. (WGN)

4. City leaders approved a proposal to buy the Diplomat Hotel and possibly convert it into temporary housing for migrants, Block Club reports. A meeting about the Lincoln Square motel plan will be held May 31 at Swedish Hospital. (Block Club)

  • Chicago was named among U.S. News and World Report’s “best places to live.” (Patch)
  • Actor Jamie Foxx is reportedly recovering from a medical condition at a Chicago facility. (ABC)
