Chicago Pizzeria Named Among Best In The World By Time Out

CHICAGO, IL — One Chicago pizza joint was crowned as one of the 19 best pizzerias in the world by Time Out.

With two Chicagoland locations — one in Uptown and one in Berwyn — Milly's Pizza in the Pan was ranked in 11th place, joining restaurants nodded on every continent (besides Antarctica, of course).

The pizzeria, which was founded in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, serves a "thick-crust pie that represents the pinnacle of Chicago's most iconic dish," Time Out said.

Milly's was nodded alongside restaurants on every continent (besides Antarctica, naturally). Two other restaurants in the United States, in New York City and Miami, received nods.

"In a city brimming with legendary pizzerias, it takes a lot to stand out. Yet owner Robert Maleski managed this remarkable feat when he launched Milly’s during the pandemic, elevating a timeless recipe," Time Out said of Milly's. "The dough is baked with a ring of mozzarella around it, which produces a striking, caramelised crust. My favorite is the Untitled #1 – crowned with zesty pepperoni, jalapeños and chunks of fresh mozzarella. It was Maleski’s first creation and, in my opinion, the perfect harmony of flavors and textures."
