11-Year-Old Boy Faces Carjacking Charge With Use Of Gun: Chicago PD

The juvenile was identified as an offender after Chicago Police said he and others attempted to take a 48-year-old woman's car by force.

CHICAGO — An 11-year-old boy faces a felony attempted carjacking charges after police said that he was among those who attempted to steal a car by force from a Chicago woman on the city’s South Side early Monday morning.

The boy was arrested without incident at 3:50 a.m. Monday in the 3500 block of South Calumet Avenue after he was identified as one of the offenders who moments earlier attempted to force a 48-year-old woman to give up her vehicle in the 3400 block of South Giles Avenue, Chicago police said on Monday.

The boy faces one count of attempted vehicular carjacking with aggravated use of a firearm, police said.

The boy is due in juvenile court on Tuesday, according to police, who are not releasing any more information about the incident.
