CHICAGO (CBS) — A 16-year-old boy has been charged in the murder of 18-year-old Azul De La Garza in September. The teen was taken into custody Monday afternoon.
Azul was sitting in a parked car, just outside her childhood home near 54th Street and Avers Avenue in West Elsdon, when they were shot multiple times in the torso by the teen offender who fled on foot, authorities said. She is remembered by friends and family as a “beautiful soul” with a bright artistic future ahead.
