2 People Hurt in Crash Caused by Wounded Gangbanger: Police

The driver of an SUV was shot but continued to drive until he struck another vehicle in Chicago Monday afternoon.


CHICAGO, IL — Two people were hurt when an SUV with a wounded gangbanger behind the wheel slammed into their vehicle Monday afternoon in Chicago. The crash took place in the 6600 block of South Karlov near West Marquette, according to Chicago Police. The two people injured in the crash were taken to Holy Cross Hospital. The documented gang member who was shot in the back and hand was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

In other Chicago shooting news, NBC Chicago reports that a man who was shot near a school on the West Side ran into the school and asked for help. The shooting took place around 12:30 p.m. when the man was shot in the groin in the 200 block of North Kolmar. He ran into Marconi Elementary Academy.

NBC said the man had no affiliation with the school.
