3 Police Officers, 1 Passenger Injured After Car Crash In Austin

According to authorities, the 3 officers were in an unmarked SUV when a Chrysler ran a stop sign and hit their vehicle.

CHICAGO — Three police officers and a 19-year-old man were injured in a car crash in the South Austin neighborhood Monday night, authorities said.

According to a police notification, the three officers were headed north in an unmarked SUV at around 9 p.m. in the 300 block of North Laramie Avenue when a Chrysler 200 ran a stop sign and the SUV.

A passenger in the Chrysler was taken to Stroger Hospital where he is in unknown condition. The three officers were taken to a local hospital for "observation," according to officials. Their conditions have not been released as of Tuesday morning.

The driver of the Chrysler, a 20-year-old man, was uninjured.
