6 Shot, 3 Dead, Including 1-Year-Old Girl, In I-57 Shooting: Police
Police say the six people were in a white SUV. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene and another died at a local hospital.
CHICAGO — Six people were shot and three died, including a 1-year-old girl, in a shooting Sunday night on Interstate 57, the Illinois State Police said.
The shooting took place at 10:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-57 near 115th Street, police said. Police said six people were inside a white SUV when someone started shooting at the vehicle. Police said that the driver continued on I-57 before eventually stopping at 111th Street.
State police said two people were pronounced dead at the scene and that four other people, including three children, were taken to local hospitals. Police said a 19-year-old was shot as well in the incident, but did not provide an update on that person’s condition.

The Cook County Coroner confirmed that one of the people who died was a 1-year-old girl, but did not say if that was the person who died after being taken to the hospital, the state police said.
The coroner identified the child who was killed as A-Mara Hall.

The expressway was closed immediately after the shooting and reopened shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Monday, police said.
Police have not provided any information about a possible suspect or motive in the shooting.
