8-Year-Old Boy Accidentally Shot, Killed Inside Chicago Home: CPD
The boy was inside a home when police say he and another juvenile found a gun, which accidentally went off and struck the boy in the chest.

CHICAGO — An 8-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed inside his home in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood early Tuesday morning, police said.
The boy was inside the home in the 3100 block of West Flournoy at 4:25 a.m. with another male juvenile when they found a gun, police said. The gun went off one time and the victim was struck in the chest by the bullet. Officers transported the boy to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Chicago Police said on Tuesday.
No other injuries were reported and police recovered the gun at the scene of the accidental shooting. Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
