Attacker Stabs Woman In Chest At L Stop Near UIC Campus: Police
A male took a large knife from his backpack, approached a 27-year-old seated on a nearby bench and stabbed her in the chest, police said.

CHICAGO — Police are seeking the public’s help to identify an assailant who stabbed a woman in the chest at a CTA train stop near the University of Illinois Chicago campus, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of South Halsted Street, according to police, which is the location of the UIC-Halsted Blue Line stop and just north of the university campus.
The male took a large knife from his backpack while on the platform, approached the 27-year-old woman seated on a nearby bench and stabbed her in the chest, police said, adding he then fled, walking north on South Morgan Street.

The woman was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.
The attacker was about 6 feet tall and is estimated to weigh 160-180 pounds, according to police, who warned people never to chase a fleeing assailant.
