Backpack Catches Fire On Plane At Midway Airport: Police
Here's what fire officials said may have caused the fire.
CHICAGO, IL — Members of the Chicago Police Department Bomb and Arson Unit were called to Midway Airport around 10:30 a.m. Monday after a backpack caught fire on a plane, WGN reports. The Southwest Airlines flight #285 to Austin, Texas, was still on the ground when the bag caught fire, according to the Chicago Department of Aviation.
The Chicago Fire Department told WGN a battery charging system in the bag may have caused the fire, which has since been put out.
No injuries were reported.
