In advance of Mother's Day, former First Lady Michelle Obama tried to one-up everybody planning to bring their mom a bouquet from the Jewels on Sunday.

She announced plans to name an exhibit at the Obama Presidential Center for her mother, Marian Shields Robinson, who lived her family at the White House.

  • Smashing Pumpkins' First Lady, Chloe Mendel, bought the iconic "Chop Suey" sign from Orange Garden, which has hung over Irving Park road for nearly a century. Mendel said she bought the sign, which will find a home at Madame ZuZu's in Highland Park, because her husband, Billy Corgan, loves it so much. (Patch)
