Fifteen terms is enough. U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush will not seek re-election.

A founding member of the Illinois Black Panthers, and a prominent civil rights activist, Rush has served in Congress in 1993. In 2000, Rush fended off a primary election challenge from future U.S. President Barack Obama by winning 60 percent of the vote.

Rush is expected to formally announce the end of his political career today at Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ, where Emmett Till's funeral was held in 1955.
