Body Found in Car Trunk On Northwest Side

Police said one person was detained on Wednesday after the remains were found that morning.

CHICAGO— A body was found in the trunk of a car Wednesday morning on the Northwest Side of the city, police said.

One person was detained Wednesday afternoon after the remains were discovered at about 11:30 a.m., Chicago police said. The vehicle was parked near a business on the 2100 block of North Marmora Avenue in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood.

According to officers, a second crime scene was found nearby. The owner of the vehicle is not yet known.

The cause of death is pending a medical examination, though police said the person is a male of unknown age and are classifying the case as a homicide.
