'Boiling Water Challenge' Sends 8 People To Loyola Hospital
A Loyola burn surgeon warned people about the challenge that's been seen across social media.

COOK COUNTY, IL — Several people who braved the frigid weather last week to try out the "boiling water challenge" ended up in the hospital, according to media reports. The challenge consists of flinging a pot of boiling water in the air and watching it turn into frozen vapor, and Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood said eight people who attempted to do just that ended up in the hospital's burn center, NBC Chicago reported.
The eight patients treated for burns range in age from 3 to 53-years-old, a hospital spokesman told the media outlet.
