Boy, 13, Stole Car With 2 Young Children Inside, Crashed It: CPD
Police said the boy hit the vehicle's owner while he was speeding off and then exited the vehicle several blocks away, causing it to crash.

CHICAGO — A 13-year-old boy faces carjacking and aggravated assault charges after police said that he stole a woman’s vehicle that has two children inside and then hit the driver while he sped away, police said.
The boy was arrested by Chicago Police around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the 700 block of North Spaulding Avenue. He was identified as the person who, moments earlier, stole a 26-year-old woman’s car and then took off with two children – ages 7 and 4 – inside the vehicle in the 600 block of North Christiana Avenue, Chicago Police said.
Police said while fleeing the scene in the car, the boy hit the woman who owned the vehicle as he took off while the children were inside the car. The boy then exited the vehicle while the car was still moving several blocks away and the vehicle crashed, police said.

The boy was arrested without incident and charged. No other information is being released by police at this time.
