Chesterbrook Academy Preschool Students Release Ladybugs for Earth Day
On April 22, students at seven schools celebrated Earth Day by releasing thousands of beneficial bugs into their schoolyard
On April 22, students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool locations in Illinois including – Bartlett, Champaign, Lisle, Naperville, Shorewood, Westmont, and Wheaton – bugged out in celebration of Earth Day as they released thousands of ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers, and trees. As part of the celebration, students also created artwork and costumes out of recycled materials.
Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees, and shrubs. Chesterbrook Academy Preschool teaches the importance of caring for the earth and exploring nature at an early age.
