City of Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, Metra and the CTA provide tips and information on the 61st event.

CHICAGO, IL — For more than six decades, the Chicago Air and Water Show has graced the city's skies and viewers' eyes along the lakefront. This is the 61st year of the event, running 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 17 and 18.
Presented by the City of Chicago, the weekend event is the largest free show of its kind in the United States, and can be viewed along the lakefront, from Fullerton Avenue to Oak Street, with North Avenue Beach as the focal point.
Show headliners include U.S. Navy Blue Angels and U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights, and viewers will also enjoy performances and demonstrations by honored guests, civilian teams and military. The schedule (order) of performers is decided the morning of the show by the pilots.
