Chicago Eatery Makes Most Scenic US Restaurants List

CHICAGO — A River North steakhouse was named one of the top 100 scenic restaurants in the United States by an online reservation service. Chicago Cut Steakhouse was the only Illinois eatery to make OpenTable's 2018 list.

"We know a memorable meal is as much about the ambiance as it is about the food," Caroline Potter, OpenTable's chief dining officer, said in a statement. "This year's list represents an immense variety of restaurants that not only offer an exceptional meal but also feature breathtaking views that enhance the experience for locals and travelers alike."

The rankings highlight "restaurants that offer breath-taking views of nature, cityscapes and travel-worthy landmarks," the website stated. To come up with this year's list, OpenTable sifted through more than 12 million reviews by verified diners that looked at more than 28,000 restaurants nationally between June 1, 2017 and May 31, 2018.

"Excellent choice for a celebration," the website said about Chicago Cut Steakhouse, 300 N. LaSalle Dr. "The food was awesome and the service was outstanding."

California had 28 restaurants on OpenTable's list, the most of any state. Florida was second with 13, and New York had seven.
