Lightfoot Seeks 2nd Term / Prison Time For A Daley? / Ice Cream Shops

The feds want convicted Ald. Patrick Daley Thompson to serve two years in prison on fraud and income tax evasion charges.

Dozens of family, friends and supporters wrote to the judge asking for leniency for Thompson.

"He is the couch in the living room, and without him, home just doesn't feel like home," Thompson's nephew Michael Grace Jr. wrote on behalf of his uncle.

• A man charged with shooting a police officer is being held on a $1 million dollar cash bail. Jerome Halsey, 27, did not appear in court. He remains hospitalized after being shot by police, Matt Masterson reports. (WTTW)
