Lightfoot Seeks 2nd Term / Prison Time For A Daley? / Ice Cream Shops

The feds want convicted Ald. Patrick Daley Thompson to serve two years in prison on fraud and income tax evasion charges.
Dozens of family, friends and supporters wrote to the judge asking for leniency for Thompson.
"He is the couch in the living room, and without him, home just doesn't feel like home," Thompson's nephew Michael Grace Jr. wrote on behalf of his uncle.

- A 30-year-old Chicago woman was charged with reckless homicide two months after driving away from the scene of an accident that killed a bicyclist in the West Loop. Courtney Bertucci was charged with two additional felonies, including leaving the scene of an accident and drug possession. (Patch)
- There's more money earmarked to support students' mental health and provide social-emotional learning in modernized classrooms as part of the Chicago Public Schools' $9.5 billion budget.(Patch)
- A man charged with shooting a police officer is being held on a $1 million dollar cash bail. Jerome Halsey, 27, did not appear in court. He remains hospitalized after being shot by police, Matt Masterson reports. (WTTW)
