  • After his team fell short in the National Women's Soccer League title game Saturday, Chicago Red Stars Rory Dames suddenly resigned after 11 years as head coach. The coach claimed he planned on refocusing his attention on spending time with family. The Washington Post reported another reason. Players told the paper Dames repeatedly crossed "a line into what they believed was verbal and emotional abuse: controlling, berating and humiliating players, and breaking the boundaries of the player-coach relationship."   • Former President Barack Obama must be very thankful for Jeff Bezos. The Amazon founder has pledged $100 million to the Obama Foundation. Bezos reportedly wants a plaza at the currently under construction Obama Presidential Center to be named after the late U.S. Rep. and Civil Rights icon John Lewis. (WGN)
  • Chicago reached a symbolic vaccine milestone. About 77 percent of Chicagoans who are at least 12-years-old have been jabbed at least once, officials say. (Patch)
  • Former City Hall watchdog keeps making headlines. After defending former Mayor Rahm Emanuel last week, Joe Ferguson on Monday criticized the current mayor's lack of a response to the Park District lifeguard sexual abuse scandal. "His desperate grabs for attention by opining on issues about which he knows nothing does not warrant any further response," a spokesman for Mayor Lori Lightfoot said. (WBEZ)
  • Thanks to community support, Black-owned restaurants in Chicago and Atlanta generated more than $1 million on Juneteenth. "We all did this with no corporate backing," said Jeremy Joyce of Black People Eats. (Eater)
  • Bears coach Matt Nagy remained mum on the extent of the injury that sidelined quarterback Justin Fields on Sunday. It's uncertain if Fields will be cleared to play against Detroit on Thanksgiving. (Patch)
