Chicago Is One Of America's Food Capitals: Ranking
Chicago was ranked between Jersey City and Honolulu.
CHICAGO — Chicago is among America's food capitals, according to a recent study by Clarify Capital, which ranked cities by food culture.
The Windy City came in 11th on the list of the country's 100 most-populated cities. Jersey City was 10th and Honolulu was 12th. San Francisco took the top spot followed by Oakland and Seattle, respectively.
The ranking used Yelp data and took into account cuisine diversity, the ratio of mom-and-pop to chain restaurants, average rating, average review count and affordability. Clarify Capital also surveyed 1,000 Americans about their dining out preferences.

Chicago ranked fourth for cuisine diversity and 11th for both restaurant quality and popularity, but it came in 16th for the ratio of mom-and-pop to chain restaurants and was 91st for restaurant cost.
