Chicago Police Department Warns Residents Of Person Impersonating Cop
Police said that person flashes a badge and displays a handgun trying to gain access to local businesses and says he is a cop or sergeant.

CHICAGO — The Chicago Police Department is warning city residents to beware of a person impersonating a Chicago cop who flashes a badge and displays a handgun to gain entry into businesses, including the Shedd Aquarium.
Police officials announced Monday that the person who the department said is impersonating an officer announces that he is a Chicago officer or sergeant and is dressed in Chicago apparel, the department said in a community alert.
The impersonator has appeared at three businesses recently including 1200 S. Lake Shore Drive (Shedd Aquarium) during the evening hours of Sept. 1, at 550 Roosevelt Road in the early morning hours on Monday, and at the 10000 block of S. Wallace in late August.

The person is described as being a man between the ages of 40-45, standing 5 feet to 5-foot-5, and weighing approximately 230 pounds. He has been dressed in a Chicago police uniform.
Residents should call 911 if they spot the person police are searching for and should be aware of suspicious people or activity in the area and should be aware of this crime at nearby businesses, police said.
