CHICAGO, IL — The Chicago Police Department said one of their officers was found dead near his West Side home Sunday afternoon, March 10, with a possibly self-inflicted gunshot wound, WLS reported. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office and police said 44-year-old Eric Concialdi was found around 1:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Monroe Street.

WLS said if a scheduled autopsy determines Concialdi's injury was self-inflicted, it would be the third time this year that a Chicago Police Department officer has taken their own life, and the seventh time since July.
