Chicago Publicist Trevian Kutti Surrenders In Trump Georgia Case

Kutti, an ex-publicist for R. Kelly and Kanye West and a cannabis lobbyist, is accused of illegally trying to pressure an election worker.

CHICAGO — The Chicago publicist accused of taking part in an illegal scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia turned herself in at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta.

Trevian Kutti is among the the 18 associates of former President Donald Trump to be indicted as part of a sweeping racketeering indictment alleging an abortive plot to reverse the Republican's loss.

Kutti formerly worked as a publicist for R. Kelly and Kanye West and as a lobbyist for a Canadian cannabis corporation.

According to the 98-page indictment, Kutti conspired with Harrison Floyd, a former mixed martial arts fighter who led the group Black Voices for Trump, Orland Park pastor Stephen Lee and Scott Hall, a bail bondsman in the Atlanta area.

Kutti and her co-defendants falsely claimed election workers Ruby Freeman and her daughter had engaged in fraud.

On Jan. 4, 2021, Kutti showed up at Freeman's house and claimed she was trying to help Freeman while making various threats, according to prosecutors and congressional testimony.

She has been charged with a violation of the Georgia racketeering influenced and corrupt organizations act, or RICO, conspiracy to commit solicitation of false statements and writings and influencing witnesses.

Kutti was among the final seven defendants to surrender ahead of a deadline of noon on Friday after negotiating bail with authorities. She posted the $7,500 cash portion of her bond to secure her release the same day.

Following her release, Kutti posted a message on social media with the caption "Freedom is not free" and hashtags spelling out "god bless america" — along with the musical accompaniment from the 2005 track "Bring Me Down" by Kanye West featuring Brandy.
