Chicago To Ring In New Year With Biggest Fireworks Display Ever
The New Year's Even fireworks show is set to light up the sky to a synchronized soundtrack and broadcast live on WGN.
CHICAGO — The city plans to ring in the new year with a big bang — Chicago's largest fireworks display ever.
You'll even be able to watch the 1.5 mile-long fireworks display set to blast off at midnight along the lakefront near Navy Pier from your couch on a live simulcast on WGN.
The fireworks show is set to light up the sky to a synchronized soundtrack at eight separate launch sites. It's being billed as one of the largest pyrotechnic displays in the world.

"I’m thrilled that we are able to welcome back our New Year’s Eve fireworks and hope to continue this tradition into the future," Mayor Lori Lightfoot said in a statement. "Importantly, the display can be viewed outdoors where the spread of COVID-19 is less likely, so our residents and visitors should feel comfortable while masking up and social distancing or even watching safely from home. I look forward to welcoming a happy new year."
