Chicago Is The Third-Most Desired Place To Live On The Planet: Ranking

CHICAGO — Chicago is the third-most desired place to live on the planet, according to a recent ranking compiled by Compare the Market.

The UK-based price comparison website ranked the 10 most desireable cities internationally by looking at average monthly Google searches for terms related to living in and moving to a certain location.

Chicago had an average of 23,190 monthly searches for moving-related terms, according to the ranking.

“This dynamic city on the shores of Lake Michigan offers everything from world-class museums to a thriving culinary scene,” home, pet and travel insurance expert Anna McEntee wrote for Compare the Market. “From its deep-dish pizzas to its energetic jazz clubs, Chicago promises a vibrant and exciting time for those seeking a taste of American city life.”

Dubai was first on the list with 44,090 average monthly searches and Las Vegas was second with 30,040 searches, according to the ranking. Miami came in fourth with 22,530 searches.

Two other U.S. cities cracked the top 10, according to the ranking. Los Angeles was fifth with 21,880 average monthly searches and Philadelphia was ninth with 13,900. Other cities in the top 10 included Toronto, Melbourne, Singapore and Mumbai.
