Christmas Music Taking Over Chicago's 93.9 LITE FM
One area station started playing the jolly tunes Tuesday, while another will wait a bit longer.
CHICAGO, IL — Holly, jolly tunes are taking over Chicago's 93.9 LITE FM, beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Expect to hear nothing but Christmas tunes when you tune in between Tuesday afternoon and through the end of the holiday season.
"It’s the most wonderful time of the year! 93.9 Christmas music is a tradition," one Facebook user commented under 93.9 LITE FM's Monday announcement.
Several others shared their thoughts around the idea of it being "too early" for Christmas music.

"For everyone that's saying 'it's too (SIC) early' you have a choice.....don't (SIC) listen ....for the rest of us whoooo who! It's about time!" another replied.
If you prefer waiting until Thanksgiving (Nov. 28) for the sounds of Christmas music to hit your ears, that's the day Christmas music will take over the student-run radio station at the University of St. Francis, WCSF 88.7 FM

The station's holiday tradition, The Spirit of Christmas, will broadcast commercial-free holiday music — including classics like "Suzy Snowflake" — 24 hours a day, from Thanksgiving through Jan. 2. USF said the festive programming is presented annually by WCSF 88.7 FM, and can be accessed worldwide through live streaming.
