Construction Worker Killed In Hit-And-Run With Semi On I-90: Police
The worker was standing on an aerial lift that was struck by a semitrailer, police said, adding the semi left the scene.
CHICAGO — A construction worker was killed in a hit-and-run involving a semitrailer Monday night on Interstate 90 in Chicago, according to police.
The victim was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office as 54-year-old Francisco Javier Padilla-Gutierrez.
Padilla-Gutierrez was standing on an aerial lift around 9:30 p.m. on the northbound interstate near Kinzie Street in Hubbard’s Cave when the lift was hit by the semi, which did not remain at the scene, according to state police. Padilla-Gutierrez was taken to a local hospital and declared dead, police said.

Three vehicles were involved in a secondary crash but no injuries were reported in that incident, according to police.
