The week ahead will be pleasant. No severe storms in the forecast. Let's drink to that!

Say goodbye to 90-degree heat for a while. We stay in the 80s on Monday and then we cool down to the lower 70s. Later in the week, the National Weather Service forecast predicts a chance of Thursday thunderstorms. But no tornadoes. So, we've got that going for us this week.

  • Tuesday: Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 70s. North winds 10 to 20 mph. Clear in the evening. Lows in the mid 50s in the suburbs but around 60 downtown. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Sunrise: 5:18 a.m. | Sunset: 8:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: Sunny. Highs in the upper 70s inland but only in the upper 60s near the lake. Mostly clear in the evening. Lows in the upper 50s in the suburbs but in the lower 60s downtown. Sunrise: 5:18 a.m. | Sunset: 8:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: Mostly sunny in the morning then becoming partly cloudy. Highs around 80. The evening brings first chance of storms in the week. Partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 60s. Sunrise: 5:18 a.m. | Sunset: 8:30 p.m.
  • Friday: Mostly clear. Highs in the upper 70s inland but only in the lower 70s near the lake. Lows in the lower 60s. Sunrise: 5:19 a.m. | Sunset: 8:29 p.m.
