Credit Card Data Breach Affects These Illinois Noodles & Company Restaurants

A data breach may have compromised payment information for Noodles & Company customers in 28 states, including Illinois and Indiana, who used debit or credit cards between Jan. 31, 2016 and June 2, 2016.

Hackers may have obtained cardholder information including name, card number, expiration date and CVV, the company announced this week.

There are 53 Noodles locations in Illinois, most of them in the Chicago area. There are 10 locations in Indiana.

“Noodles & Company takes the security of our guests’ information extremely seriously, and we apologize for the inconvenience this incident has caused our guests,” said Kevin Reddy, chairman and CEO of Noodles & Company.

The company began investigating unusual activity on its credit card processor May 17 and immediately started working with experts to find out if the system had been compromised.

On June 2, the company said it found "suspicious activity" that indicated a possible breach.

The company states that credit and debit cards used at the affected locations are no longer at risk but asks customers to monitor their credit and debit transactions.
