ILLINOIS — A year after their crosstown rivals emerged victorious from the cornfield, the Chicago Cubs will represent the Windy City in the second "Field of Dreams" game at the iconic field made famous by the 1989 classic movie.

The Cubs will take on the Cincinnati Reds Thursday in Dyersville, Iowa. The pregame starts at 5 p.m. Central and the first pitch is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Fox.

On Wednesday, the team — currently in the midst of a major rebuilding — expressed excitement for the game. "They built it. Here we come," read a message on the Cubs' Twitter account.

Earlier this week, MLB revealed the throwback uniforms the Cubs and Reds will wear during the game. The Cubs' uniforms represent those worn during the late 1920s, while the Reds will don 1919-inspired uniforms.

"A year after its indelible debut, the Field of Dreams Game returns as two storied franchises face off tonight amid the idyllic cornfield of Dyersville, Iowa," MLB said on its website.

Last year's nostalgic Field of Dreams game ended with a two-run homer from Sox shortstop Tim Anderson.

"Field of Dreams" star Kevin Costner emerged from the cornfields with players from both teams during the 2021 game, and is expected to do the same this year.

The 1989 film co-starred James Earl Jones, Amy Madigan and Ray Liotta, who died in May.

On Wednesday, Costner paid tribute to Liotta, calling the actor "amazing" and sharing memories from the filming of the movie.

"'Shoeless Joe Jackson' will be out there with all of us for a great night of baseball in the fields of Iowa," Costner wrote.
