1) The Cubs will play the Cincinnati Reds Thursday at the Field of Dreams in Iowa, donning throwback uniforms. The game will air at 6:15 p.m. Meanwhile, the sportsbook annex at Wrigley Field is proceeding as planned, illustrating how close Major League Baseball and gambling are getting, writes Paul Sullivan. 2) Chicago police released disturbing surveillance video of a man being shoved off a CTA platform on the near West Side onto the tracks at the Damen Blue Line stop after a weekend of violence on the Red and Blue lines. Police are asking for help identifying the suspect. (Patch)

3) Chicago Police say they are stepping up patrols on CTA trains across the city after recent violence, including a shooting on a Red Line train Saturday. Those patrols were set to begin Sunday, and police Supt. David Brown said Monday that they have. But riders say they haven't noticed any changes. (CBS Chicago)

4) Chicago’s Gene Siskel Film Center will present the exclusive U.S. Academy Award-qualifying run of Chicago filmmaker Kevin Shaw’s critically acclaimed documentary feature, "Let The Little Light Shine." The documentary follows parents-turned-organizers as they advocate to stop City Hall from closing their South Loop elementary school, a top-ranked National Teachers Academy targeted by Rahm Emanuel. The one-week run begins Aug. 12. (Reel Chicago)

5) Financial help is on the way for Ukrainian refugees and their children who have found shelter in Chicago. The deacons of the Archdiocese of Chicago presented a $10,000 donation to Saint Nicholas Cathedral School in Ukrainian Village. The money will help with tuition and other costs of welcoming Ukrainian refugee students. (CBS Chicago)
