CHICAGO — A body was pulled from Lake Michigan early Tuesday, according to police.

Authorities responded around 6 a.m. to the 1900 block of North Lake Shore Drive near North Avenue Beach after receiving a call about a body in the water, police said, adding an unidentified man was recovered and pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was discovered near the shore and may be in his 40s, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Detectives are investigating pending autopsy results, police said.
