Dog Killer Charged with Felony Animal Cruelty
The Chicago man dropped a dog on its head repeatedly.

CHICAGO, IL — Melvin Stovall killed a dog by dropping the animal on its head repeatedly, according to Chicago police. The 52-year-old man is charged with felony aggravated cruelty to animals.
On Thursday, a judge set bail at $150,000 for Stovall, who was arrested by the Animal Crimes Team on Tuesday. The killing took place the night of March 10. Police said Stovall, who lives in the 2000 block of West Adams, picked up the dog by its hind legs and dropped the dog onto its head.
He repeated this action until the dog was dead.
