Early Voting Hours Extended, 94 Precincts Without Polling Places

CHICAGO — Chicago election officials have extended early voting hours and the deadline for vote-by-mail applications.

Chicago voters now have until midnight to apply for a mail-in ballot either online at chicagoelections.gov or submit printed applications at 69 W. Washington.

Early voting hours will be extended by one hour on Saturday and Sunday.

Early voting locations will be open:

* Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

* Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

* Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

* Monday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

As of Thursday night, there were 94 of 2,069 precincts in Chicago that did not have a definite polling site set for Tuesday's election. Officials said they hope to locate new sites by Monday.

People who decide to vote on election day should check chicagoelections.gov to see if their polling place has changed on before heading out to cast a ballot, officials said.
