Turbulence blew an engine cover off a Chicago-bound Delta flight on Sunday afternoon, forcing Flight 762 from Atlanta to make an emergency landing in Nashville.
The Boeing 717's engine-safety light lit up, according to a statement from Delta Airlines, and the pilot declared an emergency and requested permission to land. The cowling struck the fuselage at about 26,000 feet over Cleveland, Tennessee, according to the airline.
