Fatal Accident Causes Major I-55 Delays Wednesday Morning
3 lanes are down on the Stevenson. Check fresh reports as the morning commute is expected to be troublesome today.

A car collided with a semi truck on the outbound Stevenson Expressway near South La Grange Road at 2:30 a.m., killing the driver of the car. Police are continuing to investigate, and the morning commute is experiencing major delays on I-55 as traffic is reduced to one lane. The man in the car is in his 40s and was alone. The truck driver was not hurt.
A new crash reported around 6:30 on I-55 inbound near First Avenue has traffic backed up to I-355, according to WBBM.
Also, a car crash has disabled one lane on I-80 westbound near Illinois 47, with fire, police and EMS on the scene at this hour working to free someone pinned in the car.
A full trailer ban will be in effect from 11 a.m. today through 11 a.m. Thursday on I-80 in Indiana, a treacherous stretch of highway expected to be hit with the full force of today’s snowstorm.
