Severe storms, ping-pong-ball-sized hail and high winds were reported throughout Central Illinois Wednesday evening, with tornado warnings in Fayette and Montgomery counties and funnel clouds spotted in Harvel, Raymond and St. Elmo.
Two tornados touched down at 6:30 and 6:37 p.m., reports the State Journal-Register. The first was along I-55 near Raymond and the second was near Morrisonville.
KSDK News posted a motorist's video of a twister forming along Interstate 55 near Carlinville, in Macoupin County 35 miles southwest of Springfield.
