One woman died and five people were injured during a high-speed chase that snaked through Chicago Wednesday night.

CHICAGO — A 37-year-old woman died and five people were injured Wednesday night during a high-speed chase that snaked through the city from Pullman to Lakeview, authorities said.
Around 8 p.m., police spotted a 22-year-old man driving a dark-colored Jeep "possibly wanted for numerous crimes in nearby suburbs" near 115th and Cottage Grove. The chase started when officers tried to curb the vehicle near 94th and Union, police said.
At Irving Park Road and Keystone Avenue, the Jeep crashed. No one was injured. WGN TV news helicopter footage showed the suspect running to a gas station in the 3900 block of West Irving Park Road where he stole a Nissan SUV that was left running. Officers surrounded the vehicle in a failed attempt to stop the man.
