Illinois Attorney General's Computer Network Hacked Over Weekend
Attorney General Kwame Raoul said in a statement the hack was discovered on Saturday.

CHICAGO— A hack was discovered in the Illinois attorney general's office computer network over the weekend, officials said Tuesday.
Attorney General Kwame Raoul said in a statement that his office detected their network had been compromised on Saturday.
"Since then, information technology staff and investigators from the attorney general’s office have been working closely with federal law enforcement authorities to evaluate the extent to which the network was compromised," Raoul said.

The statement was released via a spokesperson's Gmail account instead of the usual state-issued email address.
Raoul spokeswoman Annie Thompson did not say if the hack will have any effect on the office's day-to-day work.
